Beechtree Winter Fabrics 101: The Only Guide You Need to Build Your Winter Wardrobe
The evenings are still warm enough for iced tea, and the fans haven't come off just yet, but winter in Pakistan has a way of arriving all at once. One week you're in cottons, the next you're layering a shawl before the university or office run.
What actually keeps a wardrobe warm, not just wintry-looking, comes down to fabric. Yes, the cut matters and so does the print, but the material underneath decides whether you're going to be comfortable at 7 AM or at a late daawat.
So, here we are going to have a look at the fabrics that are going to be shaping this cold season. We'll also look at where each one fits in your pret and unstitched, 2-piece, and 3-piece rotation.
The Fabrics Worth Knowing This Winter
Khaddar & Slub Khaddar
Khaddar has been the backbone of Pakistani winter dressing for generations. This winter fabric is woven thick enough to hold warmth, and it doesn’t even feel super heavy. It means it is breathable enough that sweating is reduced, and you may even style it with a three-layered outfit in the evenings.
Also, Slub Khaddar takes the same base and adds texture, that slightly irregular, handloom feel that gives a piece character to your outfit and personality.
Khaddar and Slub Khaddar both work perfectly with unstitched 3-piece sets. The fabric is nice enough that you can experiment with different cuts and lengths. The same goes for pret pieces. 2 piece ready to wear set will also look warm and cozy if you are looking for something for urgent occasions and getting a new suit stitched is not something you are thinking about.
Jacquard
Jacquard earns its place by doing double duty. This fabric comes with a pattern that is woven directly into the fabric rather than printed on top. You will not be disappointed. Our customers love this fabric for this very reason.
The final pattern directly woven in the fabric helps it have a richer, more dimensional finish that holds up through repeated wear without fading. It's a strong pick for 2-piece pret sets you'll want to wear to work right through December and January.

Lycra Jersey
Not every winter day calls for structure. Lycra jersey is the fabric for the days you want warmth but not at the cost of relaxing in a cozy setup. Movement is the most crucial variable for such lazy weekends where some errands are there, light travelling is a possibility, and the rest of the evening equals a lazy movie night with chai.
The stretch moves with you, and it layers easily under a shawl or jacket. Ladies, no bulk is added. Many women use this fabric for outfits that are perfect for casual and comfortable days instead of super formal ones. Beechtree’s everyday 2-piece sets will win your hearts.

Georgette
Georgette is like a friend that shows up when the invite says formal. The look is always exquisite. The walk exceptional. And the fall, beautiful.
It's lightweight with a fall and drape that most other fabrics can't match. (If there is one, spill it, girl!)
And yes, it is sheer enough to need lining, but that's exactly what gives it movement on the dance floor or at a winter wedding.
Most georgette pieces in Beechtree’s winter collections will come as unstitched 3-piece sets, since the drape depends on a proper dupatta and lining. However, embroidered pret versions are becoming more common for you, as we heard that you need the perfect aesthetic walk without the stitching wait. We listened. (But limited stock will be available, so don’t wait up.)
Linen
Ah, Linen, one of the fan favorites. Best of both worlds, indeed. You can wear it as formal attire; nonetheless, it suits light winters, light summers, and colder months.
Linen fabric is used in summer as a good option. Still, a heavier linen fabric, the winter specific linen, has been known as one of the most underused layering pieces when it comes to your winter closet in a cold-weather closet. We love it, and so should you!
Linen fabric basically has a natural texture. You'll also find linen outshines other fabrics when it comes to draping that really suits the early fall and winter stretch. Also, you can wear it as a 2-piece for the mornings that start cool and end up warmer than the forecast promised.

Viscose
Viscose gives you the fluid, silky feel of a luxury fabric without the price (yes, we know you will love this part) or the weight (pheww). It drapes close to the body, resists creasing, and takes color beautifully, which is why it shows up so often in this season's deeper palettes.
The deeper palettes include maroons, bottle greens, and the perfect shade of mustard. It works equally well unstitched, for a custom fit, or as a ready pret 3-piece.

Yarn Dyed
When it comes to cold nights, yarn is considered one of the favorite fabrics. And when it is dyed, know that it is done before it's woven, not after, which is why the color feels more integrated, and the outcome, be it checks, stripes, or plaids, looks so clean.
It is basically a durable and sturdier weave, which is why the dyed yarn will look fabulous if you stitch the fabric to create a daily 2-piece pret wear. Truth is, this fabric will hold its shape and color through a whole season of washes.

Silk & Raw Silk
Silk and raw silk sit at the top of the winter fabric hierarchy, and they're usually the first thing to sell out once wedding season picks up. And wedding season starts as soon as wintery cold days come.
There is a difference between the two silks. Silk brings the classic smooth sheen you all adore, while the drape is fabulous. However, raw silk has a rougher, more textured finish, and it comes with a matte finish; recently, raw silk has been getting a lot of attention.

Beechtree’s new collection brings both silk and raw silk in both unstitched and pret collections.
Pret, Unstitched, 2-Piece, or 3-Piece: How to Choose
Once the fabric is decided, the next question is format, and that mostly comes down to time and occasion.
Pret is ready-to-wear, which makes it the obvious pick when you need something for tomorrow, not three weeks from now.
Unstitched suits give you full control over cut, length, and neckline, which matters more with fabrics like silk or georgette, where fit genuinely changes how a piece looks and moves.
2-piece sets, usually a shirt with trousers or a shalwar, are built for daily wear: work, university, errands, the days you have less time and a lot to do, be it. 3-piece sets, with the added dupatta, are for when the occasion needs a bit more: family gatherings, weddings, anything that has to hold its own in photos.
There's no single right answer. Most winter wardrobes end up mixing both: pret for the everyday, unstitched for the pieces that need to be exactly right.
Ready for the Season
Winter dressing doesn't have to mean choosing between warmth and looking good. The right fabric usually gets you both.
Whether you're drawn to the everyday ease of khaddar and lycra jersey or the occasion-ready pull of silk and georgette, Beechtree's winter collection covers the full range, in pret, luxury pret, and unstitched collections. There are both 2-piece and 3-piece options to select from.
